"BACKATCHA pronounced ""back-at-cha"" was written for my band students with the purpose of providing them with an ""enjoyable"" song to play as well as a tool to improve their instrumental technique. We support our school by playing in the stands at football and basketball games and this is has been an easy song for my younger players to learn. The rhythms played by the low brass and winds should help to reinforce what they are learning in their method book. It is my hope that BACKATCHAwill provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play and provide other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate and encourage their students. BACKATCHAis dedicated to the Madison County Central School Bands, 2012-2013".
