The original setting of this work, scored for soprano solo and piano, was written for my daughter's wedding. Emily and Kevin had a fondness for this poem by Christina Rossetti, and I was pleased to set it to music for this special occasion. Upon hearing its first performance, Gary St John. my long-time friend and conductor for the Sam Barlow High School Choir. asked me to write a choral arrangement for his concert choir. The Work as you see here was performed at the N. W. American Choral Directors Association Convention in Portland Oregon. J. R. D.
