It was written for Gerard Fauvin who owns a piano store (The Domaine Musicale de Pétignac) near Angoulême, France. The idea was to use as many of the pianos as possible. On three levels, there are modern grand and upright pianos as well as renovated pianos from the 19th century. The music includes the basic, flexible score with an optional 2nd piano part. There is also a version for solo piano realized by the composer. This is not a model to follow but simply an idea of how the score could be played.
