Testo: Aus Rotten. Isolation or Solution.
In a system based on inequality where do you draw the line
Between fighting to stop oppression and perpetuating the same crime
When you start to define anyone simply based upon their gender
They you're guilty of the crime and wan equally wrong offender
It makes life easy to force people into simple categories
You're a man, you're a woman isn't that the same old story
And as a man society has mapped out exactly what you must do
Just as society has told all women what their roles are too
Too many times we think fighting sexism means creating a battlefield
With men on one side and women on the other and both sides ready to kill
But striving to find creative solutions to a problem that exists
Doesn't have to mean that it's her side against his
Can't you see, won't you see, why don't you see that I'm the problem?
Can't you see, won't you see, why don't you see that you're the problem?
Can't you see, won't you see, why don't you see that we're the problem?
Isolation or solution to the problem
A person's ability to fight sexism shouldn't be based on gender
Just because someone is a man doesn't mean he's a sexist oppressor
Or that he's blind to the problems that create gender inequality
And that he's blind to the problems that create gender inequality
And that he's not willing to do his part to help change society
Just as some women don't know exactly how to take a stand against gender roles
Simply because they're a woman doesn't mean they have all the knowledge and the tools
To break down the barriers of oppression and inequality that exists
Because it's the barriers between women and men that allows sexism to persist
Can't you see, won't you see, why don't you see that I'm the problem?
Can't you see, won't you see, why don't you see that you're the problem?
Can't you see, won't you see, why don't you see that we're the problem?
Isolation or solution to the problem
If you don't strive to stop oppression then you're part of the problem
Whether you're a man or a woman it'll take us all to fucking stop them
Men and women both suffer under he heavy hand of oppression
Both living gender roles that only lead to this suppression
Of our natural ability to communicate and live equally with each other
As a friend or a lover, as a sister or a brother
If our only goal in fighting sexism is to try and place blame
Then unfortunately we're all guilty of playing the same games
But if in unity women and men come together and take a stand
Then with our united goal we could bring sexism to an end
Can't you see, won't you see, why don't you see that I'm the problem?
Can't you see, won't you see, why don't you see that you're the problem?
Can't you see, won't you see, why don't you see that we're the problem?
